The latest’s airing of Mzansi Magic’s The Bala Family reality TV show saw an emotional Phelo Bala share his feelings on his ex-husband’s announcement that he was expecting twins. Moshe Ndiki, Phelo’s estranged husband, had excitedly announced that he was expecting twins via a surrogate, something that tore Phelo’s heart into pieces.
Phelo and his husband Moshe Ndiki had a public fallout that saw assault allegations levelled against Moshe by the Gqeberha-born musician. On last night’s episode, Phelo shared the following:
“One thing that was a lot to me this year was the announcement that happened on my birthday.”
Calling his friend, Phelo responded by adding the following when his friend asked how he was:
“I need to consider my life decisions. You know, when you’re still figuring out what is it that you want in life?”
He went on to speak of the surrogacy news, adding:
“You know what I don’t like, is just me trying to run away from everything that has to answer to such things. I can’t even run away from this no matter how hard I try. So, at some point, I’ll have to deal with it.”
In his diary session, Phelo added:
“A friend of mine said to me, ‘Do you know that Moshe is having twins?’ And I was like, ‘What?'” He also mentioned that he had shared with his friends that he did not want to be told about what was happening in his ex’s life, adding:
“He [Moshe] knows how much all of this means to me and he went and announced that on my birthday? He could have chosen another day. You [Moshe] had to, ’cause you knew how that would make me feel. My heart is broken, my heart is broken yet again by him.”
Phelo also added that he still loves Moshe, he shared:
“… To think actually that you can still love somebody after all they’ve put you through.” He finished by declaring that he was in a dark place and wondering if he would survive.
