Chicken fast food chain has paid tribute to the late TV host Derek Watts.
Derek Watts had passed away on 22 August, Tuesday, following a long hard battle with cancer. He was 74 by the time of his passing.
According to the South African, Carte Blanche announced during June last year that Derek Watts would be stepping away from the show to focus on his health.
The veteran TV host and journalist was diagnosed with skin cancer last year, which had spread to his lungs.
Earlier this year, Derek Watts was rushed to ICU following a suspected stroke.
During the time in hospital, Derek told his fans on Twitter the following, “Looks scary, but collapsed with suspected stroke in Hoedspruit 14 days ago and dispatched to super-pro Milpark Hospital ICU.”
After his death was announced, Nando’s shared a post on Twitter in tribute to Derek. The post was captioned with, “Cheers for now, Derek Watts”, and contained an image which featured the text, “To the only other person who grilled better than us.” The text is supposedly in reference to Derek Watts investigative and journalist skills showcased on Carte Blanche.

The official Carte Blanche Twitter also shared a post in his memory, sending condolences to his wife and children.
