Having recently released his album I Love It Here, award-winning rap superstar Nasty C shared that he might change his stage name in the future.
The No More rapper sat down with American radio personality Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s The Ebro Show to talk about his album, Hip Hop in South Africa, and more.

Ebro first asked Nasty C (real name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo) about the origins of the rapper’s stage name.
Nasty shared, “It’s a weird story man. I started rapping when I was nine years old and there was a guy that used to record me. He was very close to my big brother. He was kind of like a big brother to me in a way. One of the days I was there recording, before I started recording actually, I was there and he had a session to finish up before he started with mine. He was talking to his friends and said, ‘Yo, that’s a nasty cat right there.'”
He continued, “My name was Man J at the time and there was a lot of… Man this, Man that, and I wanted a unique name. So, when he called me that, I just took it.”
Ebro later asked if he would change his name completely.
Nasty replied, “I would, yeah, but I feel like I have to reach a certain level in my career first and just be like ‘Ivyson’, that’s it. I have it lined up already. I’m just waiting for the right moment. I think I have to make it in the world first, like globally. Everyone has to recognise me, then I’ll change it.”
