Social media users could not help but to comment after Springboks player Retshegofaditswe ‘Ox’ Nché picked up award-winning sports broadcaster Motshidisi Mohono from behind during an interview at the World Rugby Awards.
The video, which has since received close to six million views, was uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) by the SuperSport Rugby account.
“When Ox met Mots. We had to put on the action replay just to see that reaction from @MotshidisiM again! The World Rugby Awards were not short of entertainment,” the page captioned its post.
In the 44-second clip, Motshidisi is seen interviewing former Springboks players: legends Bryan Habana and Schalk Burger.
Creeping up from behind on the red carpet, Ox lifts up an unsuspecting Motshidisi, who lets out a scream. After realising that it was no stranger but Ox, the sports presenter laughed and asked, “Ox, what are you doing?”
Ox then greets the two legends and walks out of the shot before Motshidisi promises to buy the world champion cheesecake. “Caramel,” affirms Ox off camera.

“That’s my gal, she asked if he needs cake, and we know very well Ox doesn’t like salad,” commented one social media user.
