After sharing her meagre earnings while working at Gagasi FM with South Africa, radio presenter Penny Ntuli provided a recent update about her career path.
As previously reported, Penny shared on social media that while working at Gagasi FM, she was offered a monthly salary of R2800.
In a statement, Penny shared, “Yebo ngiyashiya emsebenzini (Yes, I am quitting my job). It was time to renew contracts and I was given the opportunity to come back this season. I gladly accepted the new show until I was told ukuthi (that) I’ll be getting paid R2800 per month. (Something not too far from what I was getting paid the past two years).”
She also said that she felt disrespected and explained to her boss, Ayanda Melansi, that the salary would not allow her to take care of her family, nor would she be able to get credit. Ayanda’s alleged response was that she should look for other jobs to balance her R2800 payment offer from the radio station.
In no time, another job presented itself to Penny.
Taking to Instagram recently, Penny shared the following:
“Bomzala kukhona ithuba eselivelile ngaleGoli… Ngsayozama futhi kwezokusakaza. Umphathi wami omusha booked a flight ticket athi woza MaNtuli masufikile konke okunye ngzokulungisa (Mates, there is an opening in Johannesburg. I’m giving it a try in the broadcasting industry. My new employer booked a flight ticket and said, ‘Come MaNtuli. When you get here, we will sort everything out).'”
