Television series Smoke and Mirrors has been quite the talk of town for many reasons since its debut in April.
With a star-studded cast that includes the likes of thespians such as Meshack Mavuso Magabane, Zolisa Xaluva, Charmaine Mtinta, Lusanda Mbane, Zinhle Mabena, Kabomo Vilakazi and many more, it comes as no surprise that this show has viewers glued to the their TV screens.
This masterpiece production has been delivering the top tier drama it has promised viewers.
Meanwhile, adding onto the stellar cast of this production are Sivenathi Mabuya and Thembekile Komani.
Sivenathi is an actress that has appeared on shows such as Scandal portraying the role of Xolile Langa. One of her latest roles has been on the local series Shaka Ilembe as Mkabi ka Sodubo. Sivenathi is set to add spark to the show by portraying the character of Nkosazana, the royal chief princess of KwaBhaca.

Also not a new face to our screens is Thembekile Komani. This actor has curated roles on shows and films such as Knuckle City as Duke Nyakama, Gqeberha The Empire as Chumani and gave life to the role of Mzinzi on Blood Psalms. Etv’s Smoke and Mirrors welcomes Thembekile as Caesar’s younger brother, Mkhuseli Ngonyama.

The local series revolves around the leading actress Thandiswa, who is a mother of one determined to expose the three men who are behind the corruption that takes places in the town of Emnyameni (which translates to ‘a dark place’).
The creator, producer and writer of Smoke and Mirrors is Loyiso Maqoma. His work has been noted on local television shows such as Isidingo, Muvhango, Imbewu, Scandal and others.
Speaking to City Press, Loyiso shared,”We’ve cooked up a story that is gripping at its core but yet has multiple facets that resonate with the viewer. A lot of research went into putting the show together and in the end, we are happy to say we have a good product to show and tell.”
