Actress, producer, and human rights activist Nomzamo Mbatha expands her advocacy for humanity to international waters as she was recently announced as the official new ambassador of the Earthshot Prize.
Earthshot Prize is an environmental foundation launched by Prince William in 2020 whose global challenge is founded on five Earthshots, which according to their website are, “Simple but ambitious and universal goals for 2030 developed in collaboration with leading environmental experts.”
The former BONA Magazine cover star is set to be part of something undoubtedly empowering and life-changing which focuses on protecting and restoring nature, cleaning the air, reviving the oceans, building a waste-free world and fixing the climate.
The founder of Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation also shared, “As an African, I am passionate about highlighting the incredible work of innovators and entrepreneurs across the continent, and I can’t wait to work with Robert and others within The Earthshot Prize to honour and celebrate African solutions in Cape Town later this year.”
The website mentioned that Earthshot will be hosting its annual celebration in November 2024, right here in the Mother City.
Taking to their Instagram to share the exciting news, the foundation wrote: “We could not be more thrilled to announce Nomzamo Mbatha as an official #EarthshotPrize Ambassador, celebrating the people and projects that are changing our world for the better.”
“We’re inspired by Nomzamo’s passion for protecting the environment and empowering future generations, and we’re so excited to partner with her to spotlight the innovators across Africa and the globe who are creating impact for our planet and our communities,” Earthshot added.
