The controversial entertainment figure Nota Baloyi has now spoken out about his parole experience following his arrest last year.
Nota, known for his unapologetic approach and always speaking his mind, was arrested last year for contempt of court and defamation of character, following allegations against musician K.O. Nota accused the musician of not doing enough to ensure the safety of AKA, after the rapper was brutally killed in February 2023 in Durban. He later implicated K.O. in the involvement of the rapper’s death.
This has since led to his arrest in court while appearing in front of the magistrate for a separate case involving sexual assault on the actress Itumeleng Bokaba. Nota spent two weeks of his 60-day prison sentence at Johannesburg prison, named Sun City and was later released on parole in November.
Speaking about the ordeal to news and entertainment publication, Sunday World, the music executive expressed relief after recently completing his sentence.
Reflecting on the entire ordeal he told the above-mentioned publication that this was something he used for his good, as it allowed him to take a break and reposition himself.
“Life on parole was tough, so I used it as a break to not think about my plans for the year,” Nota explained.
“I just have faith that there will be fewer obstacles to overcome than those I encountered in 2024.”
With the conditions of his parole stating that he was to be placed under his father’s supervision, Nota expressed gratitude.
“The head of the parole board commended my father for being present with me through this whole ordeal and said that he looks forward to never seeing me again.”
Meanwhile, he hopes that his legal troubles will now be a thing of the past so that he can focus on living his life to the fullest this year.
