Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles and her athlete husband Jonathan Owens have joined the masses and selected South Africa as their honeymoon destination. We can’t wait to see what they get up to in the ‘motherland’.
As the Bona family, we wonder what the people overseas are telling each other about our beloved country as we have seen an influx of tourists making mzansi their ultimate holiday destination. The government’s official website indicates a significant growth in the tourism sector, with Cape Town recording an unprecedented number in the past year.
Taking to her social media, one of the most decorated Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles revealed that she and her talented athlete husband have landed on South African soil ahead of their 10-day long honeymoon vacation. Simone reveals that this is the first time in South Africa, and revealed that the reason they chose mzansi was because Jonathan wanted to get the best safari experience, and South Africa happened to be the most recommended destination.

The couple has wasted no time and intends to get the most out of their time exploring the majestic and soul-soothing wonders our country has to offer. Their first full day was characterised by an early game drive where they got to see the Big Five and more, and in true SA fashion, the day ended with some sundowners.

Simone and Jonathan have been warmly welcomed to the republic by internet users who have expressed immense joy to have an athlete of her calibre visit our country. Among these users is the beloved Rachel Kolisi who has taken to Simone’s comments to wish them a great stay.
“Omg, welcome to our beautiful country! We love you!” her comment reads.
Other users have expressed their hope to be one of the lucky people who will bump into Simone and Jonathan during their stay in South Africa and honestly, we can’t hate on it because we at Bona low-key hope for the same.
@Simone_Biles I will probably faint if I see you. 😭I’m such a fan❤ Hope you are enjoying your stay here!
