With all the assumptions floating around regarding her marital status, businesswoman Sonia Booth set the record straight when she provided a brief update on her divorce proceedings with her estranged husband, former professional soccer player Matthew Booth.
In November 2022, Sonia revealed details about the alleged infidelity from Matthew in a series of posts on her Instagram account. It was alleged that Matthew cheated on Sonia with his alleged mistress Bongani Mthombeni-Moller after Sonia noticed ingredients for a cheesecake in the fridge. Thinking it was for their son’s birthday, Sonia was sadly mistaken and later found out the sweet treat was in fact for Bongani.

Both Matthew and Bongani have since separated from their spouses.
After being tagged in posts with “misinformed and incorrect utterances,” Sonia returned to Instagram this week to share an update on her divorce.
Referring to Matthew and Bongani as “he” and “she” respectively, Sonia wrote, “He filed for divorce on 9 November 2022, she filed for divorce in February 2023. Her divorce was finalised November 2023, ours is still ongoing.”
