Media personality Pabi Moloi is set to replace Faith Mangope as lunchtime host on Power 98.7.
The seasoned radio and television presenter who has been with the station for the past 10 years and will transition from being the host of Power Weekend Breakfast to becoming the new host of Power Lunch, which airs on weekdays from noon to 3pm.
The news surfaced after Faith left the lunch-time show to join Metro FM Talk between 7pm and 9pm, serving as a replacement to development economist and the former talk show host Ayabonga Cawe.
The radio presenter Pabi says she is excited about the opportunity.
“I’m excited. The transition from one space to another over the years at Power 98.7 has been inspiring for me. I always wanted to move from music radio to talk radio and Power 98.7 gave me that opportunity.”
“Anchoring the weekend breakfast show has been unbelievably eye-opening and challenging. I really had to dig from the inside out, not just because of the early call time, but expanding who I am as a broadcaster, and so I think it’s the perfect and natural next step,” she said during an interview on Power Breakfast with Thabiso Tema.
According to TimesLive the MD James Shikwambana shared insight on the changes which take effect on April 1, on Power 98.7 said the following:
“The station built an internal pool of talent that always rises to the occasion.”
James said Pabi would bring new flair to lunchtime listeners.
“She has long been gearing to interact with our listeners on a regular basis and we are confident she will bring her unique brand of engagement to Power Lunch.”
