The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in Gauteng is organising a fundraising golf event, where participants can play alongside high-ranking ANC officials, including Deputy President Paul Mashatile, for a fee.
The cost to play with Mashatile is R350 000, with lower fees for other officials like ministers R200 000, the Gauteng premier R150 000 and local government officials.
The event aims to raise funds for the ANCYL’s provincial elective conference in November, Times Live reported.
“A lot of businesspeople who will be coming [to the event] have interests in different industries. Some have been meaning to get a chance to speak to politicians in the executive authority but haven’t had the opportunity. This is an opportunity to assist us with fundraising,” Mpume said.
“This is the first of its kind for the ANCYL in Gauteng, and we want it to be a very detailed and well-organised programme. The event has received positive feedback,” the report quoted event organiser Mpume Sangweni as saying.
