South African actress and media personality Pearl Thusi recently hit back at those causing unnecessary concerns surrounding her mental and emotional state.
This comes after a video circulated on X (formerly Twitter) where the 35-year-old admitted she was going through a horrible time.
In the video she says:
“To all my friends that know where I live. I’m ordering hugs and I’m ordering emotional support.
“There’s a lot of emotional damage… So to all my friends with my address, this is an invitation for you to make sure that I am fine. I don’t do this often so just please come check me.”
She later added that she was fine but that she just needed hugs.

Since circulating the internet, many fans became concerned about her wellbeing while others began speculating on the root of the problem.
Meanwhile, Pearl was quick to address the unnecessary panic and shared another video on her Instagram story saying that she is fine, this after many of her friends reached out in worry.
“To everyone who was click baited into thinking that I was falling apart and depressed […] I have been dealing with a lot of messages and phone calls of people who were genuinely worried about me all because I said I needed a hug.
“I just want to also say I’m fine but I’m so grateful that there are people who care, I’ve literally been all day explaining and thanking people for caring but letting them know that I’m absolutely fine.”
Meanwhile she pleaded that people need to be careful not to sensationalize these “mild jokes” as she might really need support one day and people would not believe her.
