Producer and entrepreneur Thato Sikwane, popularly known as DJ Fresh, shared a video of himself applying makeup he received 10 years ago before appearing on camera to avoid looking “shiny.”
Sharing a video of himself posted by WAW! WHAT A WEEK (WITH DJ FRESH) on Instagram, the caption read, “[BTS] SEND HELP?⬇️
DJ Fresh drops the mic and takes the makeup brush! ? Let’s just say, he’s turning ‘rookie mistakes’ into an art form! Our makeup lovers, who’s going to tell him the makeup rule about old makeup & brushes? #wawwhataweek #MakeupGoals #BeautyInspo #GlamLife #MUACommunity #InstaMakeup #diymakeup.”
In the video, DJ Fresh reveals that he was gifted the makeup brush and what appears to be powder foundation from a woman who used to do his makeup on the set of SA’s Got Talent in Cape Town about 10 years ago.
“I am a guy who is going to appear on camera and I don’t want to appear oily or shiny,” the deejay is heard saying.

With some fans calling the deejay “multitalented” and an MUA (makeup artist), others commented on the fact that DJ Fresh had the products for so long.
“Aren’t you meant to throw away makeup after 12 months or something ? ? Also, does he wash that brush?” wondered a social media user.
Another person commented, “Monna wee, that powder has expired and the brush, just like a toothbrush must be replaced.”
Seeing the comment, DJ Fresh responded, “If I die, I die ???.”
