The late Peter “Mashata” Mabuse was recently laid to rest after the comedian and DJ was shot and killed in Pretoria’s Soshanguve a week ago.
Prior to his burial, which was held on Sunday, the DJ’s friends held a music concert to raise funds for his family as a token of love and support.
The fundraising concert which was organised by a few of Mashata’s friends including his close friend Mashabela Galane managed to raise an amount totaling to R187,300.
The amount was later handed over to the DJ’s mother by his friends.
Sharing the good news with his followers, Mashabela posted a picture of himself and a few friends’ handing over the cheque to Mashata’s family.
He captioned his post, “We did it for my best friend. Rest well, my dear friend Mashata. Thank you to everyone who support the initiative,” Mashabela expressed gratitude.
