After sharing the arrests of six suspects connected to Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes’ death with the public, it has now been reported that police have arrested a seventh individual.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda recently shared the news, according to IOL.
This comes after KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi confirmed in a media briefing that six suspects were arrested, and an amount of R800,000 was paid to the suspects for the execution.
On 10 February last year, AKA along with his friend, celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, were gunned down outside Wish restaurant in Durban. Police have stated that AKA seemed to have been the target.
According to the police, the killers followed the late Fela in Versace hitmaker since he arrived at the airport, to the hotel and the restaurant. It is said that the plan might have been to shoot him while seated in the vehicle, however, the plan was delayed when the rapper roamed around outside of the restaurant.
Speaking about the roles each person played in the murder, the KZN police commissioner stated, “We have the coordinator who is basically the mastermind of the whole operation, he is in custody. And, we have two shooters that you also saw on social media. We have two spotters – one of the spotters was inside the restaurant observing Mr Forbes and his friends.”
The role of the seventh suspect has not yet been disclosed, although, IOL shares that the colonel had stated the suspect to be 30 years of age.
