Many around the country are mourning the loss of the beloved content creator, Nompilo Dlamini.
The 28-year-old former schoolteacher gained social media popularity after she started documenting her journey of living with cystic fibrosis.
According to the health publication Mayo Clinic, cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes sticky, thick mucus to build up in organs, including the lungs and the pancreas. The thick mucus clogs the airways, making it difficult to breathe.
The news of Nompilo’s passing was announced on her Instagram Stories:
“Dear friends and family. Nompilo passed peacefully in her sleep last night. As a family, we’re still digesting the news and will update you about funeral arrangements in due course.”
X (formerly Twitter) has been flooded with posts of condolences since the tragic news broke.
“I just lost my sister Nompilo, a true warrior. You fought this battle for everyone. I knew you will go someday but I was not ready to take the pain of losing you. Well done my sister, you did it and won our hearts,” wrote businessman BI Phakathi.
