Rapper and producer of the singing competition Idols SA Tebogo Thekisho, popularly known by his stage name Proverb, has recently burst with pride after revealing that he has a sister who is excelling in her career as an actress on the international stage.
While being in the limelight and having a private life can be a difficult challenge, the Legacy hitmaker has done a good job separating his personal life from the entertainment scene – so much so that many were shocked to discover that he has a sibling doing great things in the world of acting.
The musician recently made a guest appearance on the King David Podcast where he shared that he had multiple siblings, from both sides of the family. Speaking to the podcast host David he said that one of his sisters is an Emmy-nominated actress.
“So, I have a little sister, Tumelo and an elder brother, Mpho. I used to have an even elder brother, but he passed on. And then Mpho and I have a sister, Lerato, who’s an actress.”
When David asked if she was from his father’s side of the family, the Metro FM broadcaster explained that that is where things become complicated.
“There are lots of elements that I don’t have a full specific understanding of. Because a lot of my siblings are also in the biz (colloquial for business), I’d rather they tell their story.”
Revealing more about his unknown sibling, known as Lerato, the rapper explained how proud he was of her accomplishments and how she was able to excel in her craft in the entertainment industry.

Moreover, he revealed that just like him, Lerato is furthering her studies to improve herself.
“She’s an award-winning actress doing superb things.”
Meanwhile, it appears that his mystery sister is Lerato Mvelase. The actress is best known for her role in the hit series ‘Home Affairs’, like Pro she had been quite influential in making her mark, with a resume that stretches as high as being a director.
Last year she completed her studies by graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. Earlier this year she confirmed that she will be furthering her studies by pursuing an MBA at the Regenesys Business School.

According to news and entertainment publication, The South African, Lerato has always been open about her and Proverb being siblings.
In a 2011 interview with TVSA, she confirmed saying: “We share a brother. Both my brothers have different surnames. Our oldest brother, Paul and Proverb, share a dad. And me and Pro’ share a mom.”
