
South African rapper and presenter, Tebogo Thekisho popularly known as ProVerb celebrates 20 years of his iconic debut album titled The Book of Proverbs.
Former IdolsSA presenter released his debut album in the mid-2000s, allowing him to solidify his space in the hip-hop space leading him to be one of the most respected lyricists and a storyteller through music.
The Book of Proverbs was released on the 4th of March in 2005 under Outrageous Records. It entailed chart-toppers such as I Have a Dream, Kimberly Rise and Hip Hop Mentality.
Proverb recently took to his Instagram page, to rave about this milestone. In his caption, he shared that when he recorded his debut album, he did not know that it would not only be his debut in music, but it would also open a path into a lifelong journey in media, entertainment and storytelling.
“From the booth to the boardroom, from rhymes to radio, from verses to voice-overs, and from beats to broadcasting, hip-hop gave me my first home, and that foundation built an entire career,” he penned.
The Heart-Beat rapper expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported his craft, and those who extended a stepping ladder for him to reach success in his career.
“I am eternally grateful to every listener, every supporter, and every mentor who believed in my craft. To the day-one supporters who recited my bars, to those who tuned in as my career evolved, and to everyone who has walked this journey with me, thank you.”
