Queen Modjadji series characters revealed

Some of the characters that will grace our screens on Sundays on the eagerly awaited Queen Modjadji series have been revealed.

Queen Modjadji series is an adaptation of a real life story about the Rain Queen who was an inborn queen of Balobedu. The Rain Queen was believed to have had the ability to control the clouds and rainfall.

Makoma Mohale has landed her first major role in a drama series and will star as a Rain Queen. She will take on the role of Maselekwani (Queen Modjadji) the young queen-in-waiting who brings about a golden age of peace and prosperity to the land.

Makoma has appeared in various television shows, including Mzansi Magic’s The River and is currently on etv Scandal.

Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela took it to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal the characters.

Mudi Mudau will portray the character of Khadikhulu, Maselekwani’s aunt who serves as her head teacher and adviser.

Putla Setlapelo will come in as Ramulodi , he is a keeper of the secret and king’s keeper. Putla has appeared in many M-Net productions like The Wild and various other local productions.

Aubrey Mmakola will play Kgoshi Mampuru, the character was king of the neighbouring Bapedi Kingdom.

Aubrey is an actor, dialogue coach, and director who has made his mark on the acting scene. He has been cast on shows like M-Net’s dramas Snitch and Jacob’s Cross as well as on kykNET soapie Binnelanders.

The series will air in July on Mzansi Magic.
