Randall Abrahams is keen to correct the viewer’s misconceptions about him as he gears up to make his appearance on the highly anticipated roast of actress and media personality Pearl Thusi.
The former Idols SA judge has for years given viewers the impression that he is a serious and no-nonsense kind of guy during his tenure on the popular singing competition. This has seen many hopeful contestants entering the competition with one main objective in mind – to gain the approval of Randall.
Meanwhile, Randall claims that what people see on television is far from the person he is in real life, and highlights that he possesses a funny bone or two that the public might be shocked to see.
With just days to go until the live event officially kicks off at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City, Randall had an interview with the news and entertainment publication, Citizen News, where he said:
“With television, you’re in someone’s home, they have an appointment with you. Especially after 20 years, they imagine that they know you, but that’s only a specific context,” he explained.
“People are going to find it difficult if they meet you in person not to have a certain perception, but over time, depending, their perception will change.”
Randall further highlighted that one of the main reasons for joining the roast was to change people’s views about who he is.
Regarding his participation in the roast, Randall says that he knows full well what he can expect from fellow panellists and is ready for whatever comes his way.
