Despite facing charges of rape and attempted murder, rapper and media personality Jub Jub has landed himself a new gig.
Jub Jub – whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye – became the talk of the town last year after it was reported that he faces 13 charges, including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, kidnapping and rape, all of which he has denied. He was then granted bail of R10,000 and is reported to return to court this month.
As reported by Sunday World, media personality Amanda Du-Pont opened a case of rape and attempted murder against her ex-boyfriend Jub Jub a decade after the alleged violation. Amanda shared that the Uyajola 9/9 host allegedly raped her several times during their two-year relationship as well as an alleged attempt to end her life. Another person who came forward with rape allegations against Jub Jub is former Metro FM presenter Masechaba Khumalo. She revealed that Jub Jub allegedly raped her when she was 16 years old.
While some may think that Jub Jub’s legal troubles would halt him from receiving job opportunities, the ex-convict was approached to put his face behind the brand Lyta Motlakase.
Taking to Instagram, the media personality shared that the brand, who he has worked with before, has welcomed him to be the official ambassador.
Jub Jub showed his gratitude for the new post by quoting a verse from the bible. He wrote, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ ~ Jeremiah 29:11.”
