Zimbabwean-born artist Lebani Thaka David Sirenje, famously known as Rasta The Artist, added comedian Trevor Noah to his honourable list of portraits. However, many social media users struggled to see the resemblance.
The artist has created unique portraits of famous South African and international figures over the past few years, including Will Smith, Costa Titch, President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Siya Kolisi to name a few.
Rasta created his latest portrait to welcome Trevor back home for his comedy tour. The internationally-renowned comedian is set to perform in Cape Town from 30 August to 1 September, in Durban on 9 and 10 September and in Pretoria from 12 to 16 September for his Off The Record tour.
Sharing his creation – as well as an image of a pig painting – on social media, Rasta wrote, “Welcome Trevor Noah comedy tour, background artist Pigcasso da pig artist in Franschoek Cape Town.”
