The highly anticipated Miss Universe finale is merely 5 days away and the excitement in the air is palpable as Miss SA Mia Le Roux and her fellow contestants do their last-minute preparations for one of the biggest moments of their lives. Since their arrival in Mexico, Mia has donned a plethora of different looks and as the fashion police, it is our job to highlight our favourites so far.
Although it is not the main focal point of the competition, the fashion and different looks that each contestants plays an important role in their overall score. The clothes each contestant chooses to wear have the ability to affect their performance as they could add on or take away from their confidence, as clothes are often used as a way to express oneself.
When it comes to our Miss SA, we are yet to be disappointed by any of her looks during her time in Mexico while she prepares for the big stage, our deduction from this, is that Mia makes anything she puts on look stunning and effortless.
Here are our top five looks from our Miss SA:
1. Day 3
First up, we have Mia’s most arguably ‘proudly’ South African look, which is a black and white number that seems to draw inspiration from a few of Mzansi’s cultures, particularly the Xhosa attire.

2. Day 6
We are convinced that pink is Mia’s colour after she stunned in this fuschia number which complimented her skin and features so well.

3. Day 8
Of course, Mia’s first and only pant look so far would make it to the list, not only because it is a unique look from what we have seen her in, but because she looks like the girl boss in this suit. The touch of rhinestones adds an extra layer of femininity to the look which we are dying for.

4. Arrival Outfit
Our list could not be complete without our queen’s arrival ensemble, which was a simple yet elegant and classy red dress which was paired with a hat to match. It comes as no surprise that the dress was designed by coveted designer Juan William Aria, who has worked with a number of our previous Miss SA winners. The red gown donned by Mia is tailored perfectly as it was obviously made for her, highlighting her best assets.

5. Day 12
Coming in last is Mia’s day 12 look, further proving that the combination of black and white will never let our queen down, as can be seen on our number spot. This look however is the most ‘casual’ or carefree we have seen Mia spotting since her arrival in Mexico. This flowy dress has Miss SA channelling her inner Marilyn Monroe, with the iconic red lip to match. The sunglasses add a finishing touch to the overall look and we are definitely here for it.
