Gospel legend Rebecca Malope has been honoured with a life-size statue of herself for 35 years in the gospel music industry.
The singer was showered with many gifts at a Gospel Music Festival in Mpumalanga hosted in her honour at The Bears Palace.
Taking to Instagram, the star shared a video of her reaction as the statue was being revealed to her. In a lengthy heart felt caption, she thanked God for his grace upon her life.
“To God be the Glory for all that he has done ? It is only by the grace of God that I am still celebrated after 35 years as a gospel music minister. It is only by God’s grace that I live to see how much my music still touches people’s hearts after all these years! It is only by the grace of God that I have a statue made for me, wow! Sifana nami cobo cobo (it looks exactly like me)! Oh Father, Who am I that you are so mindful of me??? I can never thank you enough for your grace, mercy and favour upon my life ??,” she wrote.
She further thanked all the artists who were present at the event, and also thanked everyone involved in the success of the event.
“Thank you to all the artists that honoured the invite and ministered so amazingly. Thank you to @thebears_palace for your incredible hospitality and for honouring me in this unimaginable way. Thank you to all the sponsors and event partners who played a role in making this event a success. Glory be to God ??,” she added.
