As we started off the New Year, the first-born of South Africa’s favourite trio – the gorgeous Modiselle sisters – Refilwe turned a year older.
The award-winning South African actress, model, TV and radio host is someone who began being in the spotlight from quite a tender age. The star rose to fame as she become Africa’s very first supermodel with albinism to make an appearance of the runway.
Thanking everyone for their outpouring love that she received on her birthday, Refilwe took to Instagram to say, “For all the love across the board & beautiful messages, calls, efforts made etc etc from last week, thank you so much! Deeply humbled by the pouring of some of the deepest heartfelt sentiments & blessings adorned over me! My heart was surprisingly, unexpectedly full. 🔥🔥🔥.”
She further shared that she is still open to receiving gifts as she will be celebrating her birthday for the entire month.
“I’m still ‘celebrating’ the entire month/maybe even next 3 months 🤣🤣🤣 because eiy 2nd Jan needs an extension. So if you bump into me anywhere, you can still adorn me with love for my birthday… late birthday gifts are acceptable too ‘hothwe gift ha e bole’ 🤣… it’s the thought for me at most ♥️🎁 God Bless You ♥️.”

In a world where representation matters, Refilwe has taken it upon herself to be the trailblazer to many, especially those living with albinism. With one of her most unforgettable work being the compelling performance she curated for the leading role of Mansa on the short film White Gold that tackled the injustices that people with albinism face.
