When it rains, it pours this can be seen from Shawn Mkhize’s Royal AM, after the team has been dismissed from the Nedbank Cup amid their financial troubles.

This follows after the KwaZulu-Natal club could not fulfill a fixture against Milford United in the Betway premiership and the Nedbank Cup due to SARS related issues.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) took to their X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the matter. In the statement issued, it is revealed that the NSL Committee gathered to discuss representations from the team and its management. After the discussions with the curator and the Royal AM’s management team, they came to a decision that the team will not take part in the Nedbank Cup this season.

“The Nedbank Cup fixture (number 21) between Milford FC and Sekhukhune United FC has been scheduled for 15h00 on Sunday, 2 March 2025, at Princess Magogo Stadium,” read the statement.
