Showmax is bringing to their streaming services a new teen drama series. The local series is said to revolve around five high school teenagers who are scholars at a boarding school named Olifantsfontein High. The squad of five includes a few young faces that we have seen on some of Mzansi’s popular local shows while the rest will only be making their first debut in the acting scenes on the new Tshedza Pictures production ‘Youngins’.
The”famous five” squad will include young familiar faces that we have come across on our screens before, such as Ayakha Ntunja, Kealeboga Masango, Toka Mtabane, and Thabiso Ramotshela. Tshedza Pictures welcomes to the scenes, Lebohang Lephatsoana who will star and portray the role of “an overly confident, flamboyant ball of energy who is obsessed with social media.”
Starring alongside the above-mentioned stars is Sannah Mchunu, an award-winning actress who portrayed the role of the hilarious Zodwa on Mzansi Magic’s former telenovela, Gomora. The title comes after scooping the Favorite Actress Award at the DStv Mzansi Magic Viewers Choice Awards in June 2022 following the Outstanding Supporting Actress Award, at the Royalty Soapie Awards, in September 2020.
Mzansi viewers grew fond of Sanna on the character of Nomarashiya that she portrayed on the SABC 2 soapy, Muvhango. Sannah has appeared on shows such as Gauteng Maboneng, Isibaya, Rhythm City, Generations, Ring of Lies, The Queen, Gomora, and many others.
As Mzansi bid farewell to Gomora, Sannah bagged yet another major acting role as she co-stars alongside the multitalented Lerato Mvelase on a new show called Icala that airs on Mzansi Magic every Monday.
As Tshedza Pictures hops onto its third Showmax original series following Adulting and Outlaws, the multi-award-winning actress will be portraying the role of the boarding school matron, Matron Lulu. Youngins will entail a vast and diverse cast that includes the likes of Loyiso MacDonald, Keneilwe Matidze, and many others.
