Durban-born hip hop artist, Lusaso Ngcobo, known affectionately as Saso made waves in a different arena this year as he announced his Durban July Marquee.
The artist rose to fame as a member of the hip-hop group formed in 2011, alongside Trevor Sineke and childhood friend turned former member, Mthoko ‘Zulu’ Makhathini. Known for his musical talent, Saso ventured into event hosting, leveraging his natural flair for entertainment and community engagement.
In an exclusive interview with TRUELOVE magazine, Saso reflected on his journey to this Durban July Marquee occasion.
“I think it just happened with time from obviously doing music and within doing music we started doing events as a group and then it just kept on going on into another property and another property and another property,” said Saso.
As people are looking forward to the 2024 Durban July, He unveils his luxurious creation Saso’s Brunch Marquee.
Positioned to become a highlight of the event, this exclusive experience promises indulgence at Greyville Racecourse on 6 July. Offering an escape into luxuriousness, Saso’s Brunch Marquee invites guests to enjoy themselves in a world of fine dining and entertainment.
For those eager to partake in Saso’s inaugural hosting endeavor, tickets for the official Saso’s Brunch Marquee are available. The pricing options cater to various preferences, ensuring accessibility for all attendees.
According to the above-mentioned publication in April 2024, Saso hosted a star-studded launch event featuring guests like Real Housewives of Durban’s Slee Ndlovu and award-winning producer Benny Maverick.
“[It] being our first event at the Durban July, we need to make sure that we execute everything we want to do perfectly,” he said.
