Former Ukhozi FM presenter Sbu Buthelezi is set to reveal shocking details about the station’s internal conflicts and alleged corruption in his upcoming book, The Greatest Version Of Me: My Last 60 Days vs My Last 14 Years in Ukhozi FM. The announcement comes after Sbu’s sudden contract termination from the station in 2022.
In a Facebook post, Sbu shared that his book will delve into how the station’s management allegedly handled plots against him. “We will be promoting a Book, ‘The Greatest Version Of Me: My Last 60 Days vs My Last 14 Years on Ukhozi FM.’ How the three Station Managers handled my enemies’ plots to get rid of me.” he wrote.
According to TshisaLive, Ukhozi FM terminated Sbu’s contract with immediate effect, citing allegations related to his business dealings that the station claimed brought it into disrepute.
When TshisaLIVE inquired about Sbu’s upcoming book, SABC media relations manager Mmoni Seapolelo responded, “The SABC is not in a position to comment on a book which it has not seen.”
Sbu is also turning his focus to new media ventures through the Universal Broadcasting Agency (Pty) Ltd. He announced plans to promote a range of new projects, including a Digital Radio platform, YouTube Channel, Uhambo Podcast, and the Listen to My Story Podcast.
Additionally, Sbu revealed on the Facebook post that the company will be holding radio presenter auditions in Durban and Johannesburg as part of its launch of a 24/7 digital radio broadcasting service. The ultimate goal is to apply for a radio license to be based in KwaZulu-Natal.
