Actor Senzo Radebe and the much-loved show Shaka iLembe have been nominated for the Septimius Awards which will be held in The Netherlands on 25 and 26 September.
According to their website, the Septimius Awards “is a prestigious award ceremony, with a strong emphasis on discovering and encouraging new independent talent, supporting visionary films and bringing together all elements of film-making and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series and scripts… The primary objective of the Septimius Awards is to promote and encourage awareness, appreciation and understanding of the film in all genres.”
Shaka iLembe, which sees Senzo take on the role of Senzangakhona, received three nominations: Best Series, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela shared that Senzo was one of four local actors who received a nomination for Best African Actor.

Other Mzansi actors who received a nomination include Mothusi Magano, Morné Visser, and Paul Du Toit.

Khanyi Mbau and Rosemary Zimu will also be representing South Africa after receiving a nomination for Best African Actress.
