Zimbabwean-born singer and songwriter Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro better known as Sha Sha expresses excitement as her I’m Alive album got nominated for the Rest of Africa category at the South African Music Awards 2023.
The musician expressed her gratitude and shared on social media why she values the nomination so much.
”I’M ALIVE has been nominated for a SAMA in the “Rest of Africa” category , Jesus supernatural grace once again locating me,” she wrote.
“Thank you everyone who collaborated, composed, wrote, produced, recorded, featured in this album. Also those who supported, released and promoted it. To say it has been a journey is an understatement.”
She continued:
”I fought hard to get this project out to you. I had to name the album “I’M Alive” because the challenges I faced in those 24 months of making it are a testament to resilience, giving it my all and believing that on the other side of that there was a loving audience ready to receive it , from Zimbabwe, my home, South Africa, I’ve grown to love , to the rest of the world.”
“I thank you for always receiving my music and me with an open heart and for your love. For being patient with me when I need time.”
Sha Sha also took the opportunity to announce new music which is under way adding:
“and yes, new music is on the way. I am excited for the next chapter and feels good to close “I’M ALIVE” with this nomination … All in God’s timing. Purpose over everything.”
