Sir Trill has announced his comeback to the music game and hopes to use the lessons of the past to steer himself to greater success.
The singer, whose real name is Tumelo Zwane, revealed that he is eager to see his fans have a good time again. This comes after he took a break from music following a public dispute with one of the pioneers of modern music in South Africa, Maphorisa.
In 2023, Tumelo took to social media platforms and accused the DJ of exploiting him for his talents without providing him with proper compensation for his work. In turn, Maphorisa responded, highlighting that the musician has sabotaged his own success by making a bad impression on promoters after failing to make appearances at various gigs.
With Sir Trill having now returned from his hiatus, he has now highlighted that this has given him more perspective about where he is headed and what he wants to achieve. He also made use of the downtime to learn more about the business side of things so he could be fully equipped to make better choices.

In an interview with news and entertainment publication Sunday World, he said:
“It is very important to educate yourself about the music business. This growth will help me navigate the industry challenges more effectively.”
Emphasising why he believed this was the right time to return, he added:
“Because I was already working on music to release, and a lot of people were asking. So it was a break for me to make more music.”
Meanwhile, he is now looking forward to the year that lies ahead and looks to form collaborations with more of our local artists.
