DJ and award-winning actress Mpume Six Nyamane has shared why she left the longest-running show on SABC 1, Generations: The Legacy.
Renowned for roles she played on Rhythm City, Scandal! and Blessers, Six recently played Nozipho Cele, a cutthroat journalist who recently married her partner, Khumo Moroka (played by Aubrey Poo).
The news publication Daily Sun revealed that Six left the show in February 2025 and that she left because it was time.
“I wanted to leave. It was time. I’m a very young actress, and I’m so hungry for more. I want to travel the world with this craft. I want it to take me to places I have never dreamt it would take me. I want it to open doors.
“Sometimes, in order for one to say more hellos, they need to say more goodbyes. I absolutely loved my time there. I loved the relationships that I made. The family and friends that I made were so kind and welcoming. It’s beautiful to work with them. It was such an honour to work with each and every one of them. I will always carry them in my life,” she said.
Then, Six revealed to Sowetan LIVE that she got her stage name from her days of playing provincial hockey, where she played position six.
The thespian took to her TikTok page to share a glimpse of how her last day on set looked like.
