Sticking to his word, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi met up with artist SK Original to receive his smashing (pun intended) broken glass self-portrait.
SK – whose real name is Sandile Kgaphola – is known for his unique art (which includes rugs and drawings), and recently shared with social media users the process of creating his current artwork, which eventually caught Siya’s eyes on Instagram.
“@sk_original_rsa I need to meet you pleases ❤️🙏🏾,” wrote the captain in the comment section.

SK returned to Instagram a few days later to share that he handed over the portrait to the back-to-back Rugby World Cup-winning Springboks player, who gave him a Springboks jersey in return.
“I’m so overwhelmed with joy😭❤️… I got the pleasure of being invited by the captain of our Springboks team and I had the pleasure and opportunity to hand over the artwork I made for him which went viral within 24hrs.
“I appreciate @siyakolisi for being so welcoming and humble towards me and my companions that have accompanied me. This was definitely a special day… and yes, I will be framing this t-shirt he gave me😭❤️🔥🔥🔥🏆.”

SK receives nothing but positivity in his comment section:
“You’re definitely going places. 🔥🔥👏.”
“SK TO THE WORLD👌🏾🌐.”
“Such talent! Beautiful art piece.”
“To me you’re already up there my brother, you are doing it. You are amazing!”
