Popular Skeem Saam actor  Sicelo Buthelezo, who famously goes by Seekay came onto the scene as a breath of fresh air in his role as ‘Teddy’ in Mzansi Magic’s Gomora. Since then, the youngster has become a fan favourite and revealed his versatility as he has emerged as a notable musician. He can now add the ‘fatherhood’ hat to his vast collection as the actor and his partner are expecting their first child together.

In true Gen Z fashion, the former ‘Gomora’ star’s partner, Ms Maru as well as a few close friends shared glimpses of the intimate surprise baby shower that was held for the couple. The videos included fun challenges that often circulate around TikTok, and showed everyone who attended in carefully selected matching outfits that seemed to follow a neutral theme.

“#surprisebabyshower’ she captioned.

Furthermore, Ms Maru shared moments from her and Seekay’s maternity shoot, which appears to have taken place in a remote area. The video shows the couple embracing each other, signifying the love and support from each other during this precious journey.

Although he is a public figure, Seekay has managed to keep his private life away from public scrutiny, for the most part. Speaking to OK Mzansi, a close friend of Seekay revealed that the musician prioritises his privacy, and revealed that he is excited for this upcoming journey with his partner. “He has committed himself to the new role of fatherhood and can’t wait to make his partner a wife… but he is very secretive and wants to keep his personal life separate from his work. He proposed to the mother-to-be and wears the ring; he is ready to take the next step,” the friend said.

Remaining mysterious, Seekay spoke to Zimoja and said “I’m excited, everyone knows. I don’t want to share too much too soon.”
