Congratulations are in order to Ntokozo Mdluli, better known as the award-winning rapper K.O, as his album Skhanda Republic 3 – released last September – reached platinum status.
According to The Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA), when an artist’s album reaches platinum status, they have sold 30 000 units.
K.O has his song Sete to thank for the recent success, as it has garnered over 81 million streams worldwide. The song has also topped both local and international music charts.
The Rockabye rapper took to his social media platforms to share the big news.
He wrote, “Before flying out to the BET’s, I was informed my 4th solo album Skhanda Republic 3 is officially PLATINUM.”
He then added, “A hiphop album going platinum in this climate off no stunts no gimmicks – just music. Thank you to all the contributors and all my supporters #SR3.”

On Instagram, rapper L-Tido wrote, “Congrats family! ?.”
