Siyabonga Metane, better known as the rapper Slikour, and his wife Melissa Wilkinson have reportedly separated due to allegations of emotional abuse and cheating in their relationship.

A source close to the estranged couple, who wed in 2017, told the publication Sunday World that Melissa left the rapper in regards to the above and also allegedly complained that Slikour had been financially and psychologically abusive towards her and excluded her from making crucial family decisions.

“Melissa tried to fight for her marriage and to convince him to include her in decision-making, but he ignored her and continued to make unilateral decisions,” said the source. “She is one of the women who believe that a couple, especially husband and wife, should collectively discuss issues before a decision is taken. When Slikour sidelined her, she was hurt and decided to throw in the towel.”

The source further alleged, “She said this man was cheating on her, and that was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. She said she was heartbroken when she discovered that Silkour was cheating on her.”

The informant also told the publication mentioned above that Melissa had already instructed her lawyers to write to the former Skwatta Kamp member and inform him that she wanted to apply for a divorce decree.

Since news of their relationship status broke, the pair released a joint statement on their social media. The statement read:

“We would like to let our family, friends and business associates know that we are aware of the current allegations made regarding the status of our marriage … “[A]s with every marriage, we have our own trials and tribulations to face and overcome. While we acknowledge these challenges, we also would like the opportunity to work through them privately.”
