Smangele Mhlongo is a figure who gained prominence after her realty show Kwa Njomane.
The reality show showcased the lives of the Njomane family which included the gobela and head of the family, Smangele alongside her children and sister. According to Sunday World – South African news publication- many viewers found the show quite enthralling as it explored their unorthodox way of living, displaying their “exploration of love, taboo lives, and extraordinary spiritual encounters.”
As many viewers may have seen, Smangele is quite a popular gobela. She was also considered as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s top female sangomas as she was received a nomination in the Women in Traditional Healing at the Sebenza Woman Awards.
The hilarious social media sensation also became prominent after her TikTok video went viral. In the video she is heard yelling “kancane kance uyavela.” Since then, the phrase has gone viral and began being used by many other people.

The famous reality TV star is set to join the cast of Mzansi Wethu’s telenovela, Sibongile and The Dlaminis.
DSTV describes the synopsis of the show as “young woman’s journey of love and survival alters her destiny and the lives of those around her, including her employers and their vast business empire.”

According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, the show has reached a milestone as they reached a total of 1 million viewers in October. The Mzansi Wethu telenovela reigns supreme as it is the “highest rated for its timeslot on DSTV.”
It is further stated that Smangele Njomane will be portraying the role of sister to Stanley Sokhabase, making her Nomalanga’s aunt on the telenovela.
