Media personality and business owner Somizi Mhlongo has shared the reason for the postponement of his first Family Fun Day in honour of his kiddies brand, Sompire Kids.
Starting off as an online store, Sompire Kids launched on 1 September while its first pop-up store opened from the 1st to the 8th of October at Midrand’s Mall of Africa.
In a video posted on Instagram on 17 October, Somizi explained, “What I’ve decided is that I’m going to have a family day Sompire Kids tour. You guys can come with your kids. We are going to have jumping castles, sweets, face-painters, food stalls, entertainment, and so forth.”
The Idols SA judge also stated that the locations for the Family Fun Day were establishments he frequents, such as 012 Lifestyle in Emalahleni, Bahamas Bar in Kwa-Thema, Disoufeng in Soweto, and Max’s Lifestyle Village in Umlazi.
The events were scheduled to take place on the following days:
- 012 Lifestyle in Emalahleni – 29 October
- Bahamas Bar in Kwa-Thema – 5 November
- Disoufeng in Soweto – 25 November
- Max’s Lifestyle Village in Umlazi – 3 December
“The pop-up that was supposed to happen on the 29th, this Sunday at 012 Lifestyle in Emalahleni has been moved to the 26th of November because of the weather predictions. It’s going to be drizzling and rainy, and we don’t want to do that because it’s a family day, there’s kids,” shared Somizi in a recent Instagram post.
“It’s an outdoor event, so we don’t want to take risks, we want to make sure that everything there goes accordingly. Sorry about that but it’s beyond our control.”
