While the rest of his teammates celebrated coming home with the record-winning fourth Rugby World Cup, Springbok scrum-half Herschel Jantjies celebrated some special news of his own.
The scrumhalf and long-time girlfriend Kelsey Thomas have recently announced that they are expecting their first child!

Herschel (27) was one of the key members of the 2019 World Cup winning team, and had it not been for the tough competition when it comes to donning the number 9 jersey, he would have easily secured himself another gold medal.

Since winning the tournament in 2019, he also earned success by claiming a British and Irish Lions trophy as well as winning the inaugural United Rugby Championship (URC) tournament with his local club, the DHL Stormers.

Despite boasting a number of accolades, there is probably nothing that would have him more excited than having a mini version of himself in the near future.
Since the couple announced the news, friends, family and Springbok teammates all entered the comment section to congratulate the soon-to-be parents.
Cheslin Kolbe and his wife Layla were among the many who congratulated the two.
Referring to Herschel’s previous dreadlocks, childhood friend and current Lions wing Edwill van der Merwe wrote: “Klein aiyaman 🥳 geluk @hersch09 @kelseythomasofficial.”
Herschel is currently the third Springbok player to announce the that he will be having a baby following the Rugby World Cup final in France, the other being lock Eben Etzebeth and wife Anlia, as well and flyhalf Handre Pollard and his wife Marise.
