The South African youth have found themselves amid a unique challenge as they might have to choose which major event to attend between Rocking the Daisies, Hey Neighbour and Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus concert as they calculate their funds.
It is no secret that South Africans make for a great crowd and audience for any popular artists, whether local or international. This has resulted in more and more international artists marking Mzansi as a must-do destination for their upcoming shows, after the African continent has consistently been left off of many ‘World’ tours.
Recently, Castle Lite revealed that they will be unlocking the Houston Hitmaker, Travis Scott, during his highly anticipated Circus Maximus concert, which includes destinations such as Korea, Japan and India. Shortly after, the popular Rocking the Daisies revealed that American R&B songstress Summer Walker would be gracing the stage as this year’s headliner at their festival this coming October. Hey Neighbour then shut things down when they came out to announce Doja Cat’s long-awaited ‘homecoming’ as their headliner.
Although the excitement is almost palpable on social media, users can’t help but worry about where they will find the funds to sponsor all three events, as they qualify as must-see entertainment. With a Hey Neighbour 3-day pass general admission ticket ranging at about R4 199, the cheapest 2-day Rocking the Daisies pass retailing at R1 499 and Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus tickets starting at R915 each, attendees will have to plan a highly detailed budget which will require immense discipline to follow through if they want to find themselves within the fun.
Users have taken to social media to collectively voice concern for their March salaries, as it appears that a big chunk of it will be used to finance the purchase of said tickets, to avoid disappointments of selling out later, with the demand and interest in these events evidently major.
Not only do these aspiring attendees have to account for the ticket prices, but plan for spending money for food, drinks, accomodation and transport as well, making matters a bit difficult for them.
