2025 appears to be the year of live shows for the Mother City, as more and more artists reveal it as one of the many stops on their busy itinerary. 30 March 2025 is gearing up to be an eventful day as it will see Simmy and Ami Faku hosting a show at the same time as Sjava will be having his.
For some time now, Cape Town residents have raised concerns over some artists not adding their city as one of the destinations for their shows. This could be attributed to the city’s reputation for being pricey, while navigating that can prove to be tricky for our local talent. However, 2025 has proven to be different, as more and more artists have or will add Cape Town shows to their schedule.
The Mother City is currently facing a problem that we would all love to have, which is having too many shows on one day. Not too long ago, Bona reported that fan-favourite musician Sjava revealed that Cape Town would be part of his highly anticipated 2018 Tour set to take place throughout 2025, causing immense excitement as the artist has emerged as one of the better live performers.

Choosing which show to attend will not be as easy as they both qualify as must-see entertainment. On one hand, we have Ami Faku and Simmy, a duo who boast an extensive catalogue of chart-topping bangers with insane replay value. The previous Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts has also proven to be an unforgettable experience, as their unique outdoor setup that gives all the summer feels.
On the other hand, Sjava has quickly proven himself as one of mzansi’s better live performers and has had much practice with his tours throughout the years. Paired with his popular songs, the concert is guaranteed to be something like a karoake night as attendees are bound to sing along with the musician.
