The River, who many have grown to love, will be leaving the small screen soon. Many South African viewers are saddened by the news that their beloved show will be coming to an end. Strangely enough, this also implies that the Dikana family’s home and mansion are up for sale for R11.5 million.
Fans are always in awe of the magnificent Ruimsig property, which has seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, four garages, two cottages, a lavish lawn, and an uphill drive through. However, the luxury property, according to ZiMoja, has been listed for sale on Property 24 since Tshedza Pictures no longer needs the house and has decided to sell it after obtaining it from property manager TT Mbha in 2018.
The house previously belonged to a family who moved to Cape Town in 2018, and when Tshedza Pictures took over, they kept it for almost five years and listed it in July, when the company announced the show would be ending, with a monthly bond of R124 626 for 20 years at an interest rate of 11.75%.
As revealed at the beginning of the year, 1Magic’s popular The River will not be renewed after its current sixth season.
According to the South African, entertainment commentator Phil Mphela claims that the show’s cancellation was a “mutual agreement” from the channel and the producers.
Shirley Adonisi, Mnet’s director of local entertainment channels, confirmed the telenovela’s cancellation after six seasons.
“At M-Net local entertainment channels we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the cast and crew of The River for a memorable five years. Their hard work, dedication, and brilliance have led to the telenovela’s success. The final season is going to be the show’s most epic one yet. The drama will be bigger and better, setting the stage for the ultimate finale.”
