If you think Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi is not going to have an opinion about matters concerning mzansi you’d better think again.
The vocal and sometimes controversial music producer has been very active on his social media platform about political matters since the build-up to this year’s elections.
He has also publicly declared his support for the new party led by former president Jacob Zuma, Umkhonto Wesizwe (MKP).
In a recent post on his X, an app that was formerly known as Twitter, the director at a Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary company called The Orchard, shared how easy things were during Jacob Zuma’s term as president of the Republic of South Africa commenting:
“Under President Zuma, if we didn’t like a minister he got fired. People protested & things would happen. We were free to express our displeasure. The only party that’ll hurt the ANC is MK. The only way to defeat the dirty money that rules our country is by voting for Jacob Zuma!”

Nota’s post got a lot of attention from social media users who had different views on his statement, commenting:
Dude we don’t take orders from you. You are just a dude we know here online, but you don’t tell us what to do.🚮🚮

One user saw similarities between MK and EFF commenting:
MK party reminds me of the hype EFF scared us with in previous elections. This isn’t a real place.

One user seemed to agree with Nota, commenting:
Spitting facts
Not a fan and I don’t really agree with you on many things,in fact you most usually get on my nerves
But on this,it’s like a new reformed Nota!— Mohamed Bin Al Saud 🇿🇦 (@divinebongani) May 23, 2024
Problem is that JZ had his chance & he failed. MK is just a springboard for his daughter to get a foot in the door of parliament. The Zuma’s think SA presidency is a birthright or inheritance.
