Bringing you along on a journey to the heart of Komani, The Queenstown Kings will premiere on Netflix on 17 November 2023. Starring award-winning actor Zolisa Xaluva, this football film is set in the rural grounds of Eastern Cape, Komani.
Making his return to our screens as a “washed up soccer star” from Queenstown, Zolisa has expressed his enthusiasm sharing that “I can safely say it’s one of my favourite projects ever. I can’t wait for people to see it,” he told Sowetan Live.

This drama-packed film is produced by South African film director and screenwriter, Xolani Thandikaya Qubeka, popularly referred to as Jahmil XT Qubeka, who hails from the Eastern Cape.

The synopsis of the movies as provided by Yellowbone Entertainment – an award-winning leading production company – shares that the movie is centred on “a prodigious young soccer player from rural Queenstown who must face the return of his washed-up, pro-footballer father, and navigate the choice between his team’s success and his own dreams.”
Cast members alongside Zolisa are Likhona Mgali, Unathi Faku and Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.
