So, the whole drama between Somizi Mhlongo and Man B Entertainment has completely turned what was meant to be a fun birthday celebration into a total mess.
Now, both sides have pointed fingers and accused each other of being unprofessional.
According to Man B Entertainment, things started to go wrong as soon as they booked Somizi.
They said Sgwili, the middleman, convinced them to get him on board by promising it would secure Minister Gayton Mackenzie’s attendance.
After paying, though, they claimed Somizi didn’t deliver. Not only did he promote another event on the same day, but he also asked for last-minute flight changes and caused drama at their event.
He reportedly told the current act to leave the stage with a blunt, “I don’t have time, I want to perform and f** off,” before quickly introducing DJ Tira and leaving – totally not what was planned. He was meant to be the MC, not just pop in for a quick appearance.
Man B also said Somizi didn’t promote the event on social media as agreed, even after being paid in full. They claimed he refused to record promo videos, demanding, “I’ll only do it once I’ve been paid the balance.” But, they said they paid him everything upfront, and he still didn’t follow through.
On the flip side, Somizi took to social media to share his side. He said Man B did pay for his flights, but didn’t cover transport and accommodation properly, which caused problems upon arrival at the hotel.
“They failed to pay for transport and accommodation as agreed,” he said. Somizi also pointed out that promoting the event on social media would’ve required an extra fee, which Man B didn’t pay.
“They didn’t pay for promotion, but still called me out for posting about attending another event,” he said. He also described the event as disorganised, with other guests feeling the same way.
Despite the drama, Man B Entertainment remains focused on moving forward, committed to hosting community events and creating opportunities while learning from this experience.
