The Zulu Royal Family verified the explosive outburst rant of King Misuzulu KaZwelithini towards his sister, princess Nomkhosi that was recorded in an audio and later shared widely on social media platforms.
In the statement issued by the Royal Family, it cautions the public that the matter is a private family issue and will be addressed internally by the royal elders.
The Royal Family said it was evident that the recorded audio was made without consent, and is now being used as a smear campaign to damage the King’s reputation.
“It is evident that the recording was made without consent and is now being used as part of a broader campaign to damage the emperor’s reputation ahead of an upcoming court case.
“We urge the public to approach such material with caution, as it lacks full context and is intended to mislead. The Royal Family remains committed to unity and resolving internal matters with dignity. Once all the facts have been gathered, the appropriate steps will be taken. We request privacy and respect during this time,” read the statement.
From the voice note shared widely on social media platforms, King Misuzulu is allegedly captured insulting her sister and using sexist language to degrade her. He also allegedly kicked her out of his seating room and threatened her with a restraining order. In the voice note, other voices can be heard referring to him as Bayede and trying to calm him down, while he tells Princess Nomkhosi to get off his property.
At the end of the audio, the King allegedly mentions that he will take action against his other sister, Princess Ntandoyezwe, and her husband, Moses Tembe.
