Actress Thembi Seete mourns the death of producer and director Teboho Mahlatsi who died on Monday at the age of 49.
His passing has caused sadness among many South African celebrities as he had a significant impact on the entertainment industry.
The Gomora actress took to her Instagram timeline to express her feelings regarding the death of the producer.
She said: “This one cuts deep. Teboho’s passing saddens me. Ho, bohloko ??I remember seeing his work for the first time. I was amazed and wanted to find out who created Yizo Yizo. Before then, I had never had an interest in finding out who was behind a production, and it took a series such as Yizo Yizo to ignite my interest in finding out about the teams behind a show. Tebogo happened to be one of the 1st I came across. To cut a long story short, I auditioned for Yizo with my long Boom Shaka braids, boots, and nails, and I never thought I’d be selected to be part of the show,” she wrote.
The actress also recalled the moment she with producer and director saying:
“The story mainly focused on the Township school’s challenges. I remember the moment we met. I walked up to him and told him I wanted to be part of the Yizo Yizo. Even if he could show my shoulder or me just passing, it was okay. I want to be part of something great. I auditioned?  got one of the leading roles  , and more followed; after that, That’s how I joined the Bomb Shelter Family. Tebogo, Desiree, and Angus gave me a chance, and that one door opened many doors. They didn’t only see someone passing by. They saw potential,” Thembi added.
