It is no secret that former Big Brother Mzansi housemate and runner-up of season five Umlilo edition, Uyanda Hlangabezo received a call back and was accepted to enter the show after three attempts.

The pedagogical practitioner from Gqeberha, was honoured with three awards under the categories of Most Comical, Best Dressed and Most Competitive in an award ceremony that was hosted by Smash Africa at Big Brother’s house.

Eastern Cape’s very own pride and joy, who is passionate about teaching has proven to be passionate about a learners wellbeing, as he disclosed in the house that should he win the grand prize of R2 million, part of his plans is to get a proper transportation for learners who are travelling long distance to school.

The 24-year-old recently honoured BONA with his presence, where he shared his highlights from Big Brother Mzansi. Uyanda revealed that he was doubting himself a lot in the house, because he thought he did not have potential to win the show, it only dawned to him that he has support outside the house when he remained as the top two in the house.

“When I was called in the top two, I realised that there are actually people who love and support me out there. That made me believe in myself and I’m very proud of myself. I will always appreciate the honey badgers,” he said.

He shared that entering Big Brother Mzansi has always been a dream for him. The show intrigued him and he would wonder why housemates act the way they do before he entered the show.

“I have always wanted to be part of the show, I think it was my third time auditioning.”

He revealed to BONA that he learnt a lot during his stay in the Big Brother house.

“I learnt to distance myself from negativity, because I’m a positive person who is open minded. I also learnt to be willing to give people the benefit of the doubt and listen to my gut feeling,” he shared.

Uyanda also mention that he regrets how things penned out in his altercation with Karabo ‘Jojo’ Sejojo, he believes that he should have used a better approach.

“I regret the altercation, because I believe that I could have handled the altercation much better, because that kind of altercation has a potential to leave a certain image that I’m this kind of a person. I firmly believe that you can do 75% of good, people will judge you for the 25% of bad, and use that one thing to describe you.”

He revealed that he has discovered his talents while in the house, and would like to explore all of them.

“I discovered that I’m the great MC, I’d like to venture into that, presenting, hosting events is also something that I enjoy and I’d also like to be a brand ambassador for brands who would like to be presented by me,” said Uyanda.

Meener Uyanda is outside and ready to hear the sweet sound of cha-ching! 💸 But nothing beats the love you showed by keeping him in the game. Watch his journey here: https://t.co/uFJ5VHt1Sa #BBMzansi pic.twitter.com/7Smd45O9UB
